Just got a call asking for Mr C Jones, something about pages. I haven’t got an account with them or anything. Seems like a total scam to me. Watch out!

On the 19th May 2021, I got a text from this number sayin: “HSBC ALERT: A new payee MR C JONES was added to your account. If this wasn’t you, go to: hsbc.onlinesupport-removepayees[###]/login”. Now, I don’t even have an account with HSBC, and they’d never send a message like that without using your name. This looks like a classic phishing trick, trying to lure folks into clicking the link and handing over their login info on a fake HSBC site.
