This number called me saying it was HSBC, telling me some guy called R Thorn wanted to add himself as a new payee via my banking app, and they sent a link about bank security. Thing is, I don’t even have an account with HSBC, and they usually don’t reach out to people like that on their phones. Sounds dodgy to me.

I just got a call from this number claiming to be HSBC saying some fella named R Thorn wanted to add himself as a payee via my banking app. They even sent a link about bank security or something. Thing is, I don’t even have an account with HSBC, and I reckon they wouldn’t be asking customers stuff like this through mobile calls anyway.
