Earlier today, around mid-morning, I received a rather dodgy call on WhatsApp from the number 07466 816915 (29/10/2021). The caller's ID flashed a rather suspicious logo, "DLoan Desire." The gent on the other end had a notably strong Asian accent, attempting to entice me into applying for a loan, whilst asking for sensitive information such as my full name, address, and bank details. Naturally, I flatly declined, terminated the call, and promptly blocked the number. It's clearly a scam. Prior to this, I've been inundated with a plethora of peculiar calls from various international codes, including Sweden, Italy, Austria, and the USA. Whenever I pick up, I’m greeted with unsolicited congratulations regarding supposed earnings from Bitcoin, followed by a push for my bank details to facilitate an immediate transfer. I always hang up without hesitation and block those numbers as well. These scammers have an annoying habit of changing their numbers and trying their luck again - now peddling either more Bitcoin nonsense or dubious loans. I've also received several text messages claiming there's a delivery waiting for me at the post office, urging me to click on a link. I remain resolute in my stance and have not clicked any of their links, opting instead to block the texting numbers. It feels like someone’s orchestrating a nasty prank, as most of these callers don’t even seem to know my name, often resorting to addressing me by my email username instead. In my view, the best course of action is to continue blocking these nuisances. Simply hanging up isn’t sufficient! Stay vigilant and keep blocking- don’t fall for their ludicrous claims of easy money. Remember to stay grounded in reality.
