I got a call from someone saying they wanted to check if there were any damages reported to the local Council on my property that haven't been sorted yet. They asked me to send over some photos and videos of the damage, which I did. Then they told me a repair team member would ring me back on Monday, the next working day. They also mentioned they could help get the flat fixed by the Council and that I might be entitled to compensation since I pay 10% of my rent towards maintenance, but the upkeep hasn’t been up to what was agreed between me and the Council. It all sounded quite reasonable at the time. However, because there’s been so many scams recently, it’s made me a bit uneasy. So I’m writing this here hoping someone might tell me if this was legit or if I’ve just been duped.
