Got a dodgy text claiming to be from HSBC saying there's a payee request for a Mr C Jones on my account via HSBC mobile banking. It told me if I didn’t make the request to check out security.hsbcuk.alerts-sms[###]. Sounded fishy to me!

You can actually report this straight to the police through Action Fraud. Just search 'Action Fraud' on Google, pick the police.uk website, then head over to the reporting area and fill out the form for 'phishing attempts.' You don’t need to sign up or anything. Loads of these scams go unnoticed because hardly anyone reports them, so the police end up clueless about how bad it really is. We all need to do our bit and report every scam we come across.

Got a text off HSBC warning about a new payee fraud, seemed a bit dodgy but if it’s legit, good to be careful.

Got a text saying "HSBC: A new payee MR C JONES has been set up on your account via mobile banking. If you didn't do this, go to: [#]security.hsbc.unauthorise-new-payee[###]." I phoned the number just to check, but it sounded like an international dial tone, then disconnected after a couple of seconds and went through to an O2 voicemail. This is clearly a scam, so don’t tap on that link!

Got a phone call from someone claiming to be Mr C Jones from HSBC - turned out to be a banking scam. Watch out, folks!

Just got a text from Nationwide saying a new payee has been added to my account, quite worrying! Don’t remember doing that at all. Seems a bit fishy to me.

Got a message from HSBC asking if I’d just made a new payment online. Thing is, I’m not even a customer with them. Reported it as phishing and blocked the sender straight away.
