I keep getting calls from unfamiliar mobile numbers, all starting with 0746, but the caller never leaves a voicemail. Once, I decided to pick up and it turned out to be an automated message warning me that I hadn’t paid my taxes. It claimed that unless I pressed 1 to speak with an HMRC agent, the police would show up and arrest me within 30 minutes. I hung up straight away and guess what? A week later, no police have turned up! Honestly, it’s pretty ridiculous what these scammers come up with.
