I got a text from someone claiming to be my son, asking me to delete his old number and save a new one. Trouble is, none of our children had changed their phone numbers. The next message was a classic scam line about having trouble with two-factor authentication and asking if I could cover a purchase for them, promising to reimburse me later. Luckily, I’d just seen a programme on the telly warning about this kind of thing, so I wasn't taken in.
