I rang the number back and was met with some weird hold music and a robotic voice thanking me for calling. I waited for a bit, but nobody ever picked up in the end.

I dont usually pick up calls from numbers I dont know cuz I got scammed back in 2015. It got so bad even Scotland Yard and the US Pentagon had to get involved. Ever since then, I make sure my phone stays private. I always look up the number here first, and if it's dodgy, I block it straight away and report it to OFCOM 7726. They pass the info on to the phone companies and police, so it's worth doing.
