However, curiosity got the better of me, and I decided to return the call from my work phone to figure out who it was. I was immediately placed in a queue, leaving me none the wiser about who I was about to chat with. I was number two in line, so I settled in for what I expected would be a brief wait. Oh, how wrong I was! The excruciating hold music from the 70s was driving me absolutely bonkers before I even got to speak to someone. I ended up waiting for over an hour, convinced patience was key as I was assured I was now at the top of the queue. What a farcical situation! Just as I was hanging in there, my mobile buzzed with yet another call from the same number. I had squandered an entire hour of my day for absolutely nothing.
