Almost the same thing happened to me. Got a phone call from this person saying they were linked to the Albanian mafia and wanted me to pay £400. Problem is, I’ve never even been to Albania or know anyone from there. Just blocked the number and got rid of it straight away.

I got a text from someone saying they were part of the Albanian mafia and wanted £400 for some reason that made no sense to me. I've never been to Albania nor do I know anyone from there, so it was pretty ridiculous. It wasn’t a call, just a message which claimed they’d come after me and make me pay if I didn’t send the money right away. Clearly, they wanted me to reply, but I just ignored it, blocked the number and deleted the message.
