I got a call from someone claiming to be Amazon, asking if I’d bought a phone and then they gave me a reference number to cancel the order. They tell you to give the reference number but don’t do it - if you share it, they can access your personal details. Funny enough, the message they send with the number even says Amazon won’t ask you to provide it by phone or text. When I refused to share the number, the person on the other end got a bit rude. I told them I’d get in touch with Amazon directly, which I ended up doing to report the scam.
