Got a dodgy text saying it was my kid, said they’d lost their phone and wanted some cash. Definitely a scam, don’t fall for it!

Dodgy call - They rang up pretending to be my son saying he'd lost his phone or something like that. If you’ve got teenagers, it might sound believable because they’re always losing stuff! We had a chat but something felt off, so I went back and checked with my son, who was clueless and his phone was totally fine. I’m pretty sure they were gonna try and get me to cough up some kind of insurance fee for a new phone or something along those lines.

I got a text saying, “Hey mum, just wanted to tell you I’ve dropped my phone and the screen's all smashed...” or something like that. It was a bit odd, don’t know who it was.

Got this message that said, “Hey mum, my phone broke and I’m on an old one now, so can’t use the speaker to ring you, but good news I’ve got insurance and should have a new one in couple days.” Thing is, I don’t even have any kids 😂
