I received a rather dubious call purporting to be from the Council Tax department, insisting that I establish direct debits for a bill that was supposedly overdue. The thing is, I’ve always been prompt with my payments and have been using direct debit for the past two years without a hitch. So why on earth would they suddenly require my bank details? As soon as I raised my concerns, they abruptly ended the call. I've since contacted the actual council tax office, and it turns out it was nothing more than a scam trying to catch unsuspecting people off-guard. Please take heed and don’t be fooled by such antics!
