I received a call from someone purporting to be from BT, claiming they needed to carry out a line test due to some reported issues with my broadband. It all seemed rather dodgy, so I decided to cut the conversation short, telling him I couldn’t talk as I was heading to a doctor’s appointment. He then wanted to know when he could ring me back, which only made me more uneasy. At that point, I simply hung up the phone.
