I answered with some daft responses like apples and pears just to mess about, then this bloke joined the call and started being proper nasty and rude straight away. Since I never asked for the call, I wasn’t about to hang up on him. But when I joked that the bit of him he was threatening me with was too tiny, he just slammed the phone down. Haven’t got another call from them since!

I haven’t picked up any calls from this number and after seeing what others have said, I’ve just blocked it. All these phone companies, BT and mobiles included, really need to put an end to this harassment, especially towards older people. They’ve got the technology to stop it but do nothing, which kind of makes them complicit in the whole thing. It’s only a matter of time before someone takes legal action and it’s gonna cost a fortune.

Got a call off someone saying they were my energy efficiency adviser from round here and wanted to come check my house. When I tried to say no, they just kept pushing and wouldn’t let up. It really came across as dodgy. Ended up blocking the number.

I got a call from a bloke with a British accent who gave his name, but I can’t quite recall it now. He claimed to be ringing from the local energy advice service and asked if I’d ever taken advantage of the government’s scheme for putting fibreglass insulation in my loft. I told him I hadn’t used that scheme, and actually, my loft’s already insulated and even boarded over. When I started to explain I wasn’t planning on removing the boards, he just cut me off, said he wasn’t bothered about that, and then ended the call.

That’s when I promptly hang up. It’s worth noting that they’ve also rung me from various numbers starting with 074581, and even when I block one of them, they'll just switch the last few digits and try again. Such a nuisance, honestly!
