Got a text saying: IMPORTANT! We’ve been trying to reach you. It’s urgent we get in touch today. Ring 08445715191 and mention reference 212880. Cheers. Naturally, I ignored it straight away - definitely a scam or spam. I’m honestly fed up with all these calls and messages, mostly about PPI claims. One little tactic I use is when the automated voice instructs you to press a number for more info, I do it, then wait for their callback. After that, I record the call and tell them it’s illegal to solicit me this way and that they’ve got my info without permission. I also warn them I’ll report the chat to the proper authorities and that I’m recording everything. They usually try to argue it’s against the law to record calls - but once they mention legal stuff, they’re pretty quick to hang up. It’s quite amusing really!
