So, my mum got the Uber app recently, and after a while it wanted her to verify her identity. It asked for her email and the card’s CVV number, then mentioned sending a code to her phone. When the code arrived, it was definitely from Uber’s number, so she felt it was legit.

I picked up and there was complete silence from the other end before they just ended the call almost immediately. Seems like some kind of scam, though I haven’t come across anyone mentioning this before.
