The other day, I received a call from a rather courteous gentleman of Asian descent who inquired whether he was conversing with ***. Naturally, I quizzed him on his identity. He claimed to be from the NHS, supposedly updating their records. However, he addressed me in a casual manner instead of the proper name they have on file, making it clear he was not who he claimed to be. He then proceeded to ask whether I had received my first Covid vaccine. I pointed out that if he indeed had access to my NHS records, he ought to be aware of that. I promptly labelled him a scammer and ended the call. Interestingly, I had another call from a different number a few days prior. A quick online search revealed it to be linked to this very NHS data collection scam, so I was prepared for such trickery, especially since he was misusing my name! I've since reported both numbers for phishing attempts.

Just finished a call with this number, they claimed to be from the NHS and started asking about covid symptoms and life insurance stuff. The guy had an Indian accent and sounded like he was working in some call centre 'cause there was loads of background noise. Felt a bit off to me.

Got a call from 074534498423, some bloke named Alan Biner claiming to be from the NHS Test and Trace. He had an Indian accent and started asking about my health and whether I've had the first vaccine dose. Then suddenly, he switched to asking about any health or life insurance I might hold. I told him straight up - do you want my bank details? He quickly said no. Pretty obvious this was a scam. When I asked him to send info in writing, he just hung up on me.

Just got a call from 07453498423 about 5 minutes ago, I was busy in the kitchen and by the time i got to the phone, they’d already hung up. Looked up the number and saw loads of comments here. Also, yesterday this number 07828246736 called me, pretty sure it’s the same lot. Both numbers are blocked now.

The bloke sounded like he was from India or somewhere. I just ended the call and they kept ringing me again but I ignored it. If you ring the number back, it just says it’s not valid! Proper dodgy.

Then he started asking about my life insurance - who it’s with and how much I pay. I just made up a number when he asked. When he pressed “are you certain?”, I said yes and then asked why he was asking all this. He ended the call right away. I’m relieved I didn’t share any real details, but it still left me feeling a bit uneasy.

Once I'd assured him that we were all well, he probed about my current postcode, mentioning my old one. When I clarified that I didn't reside there anymore, he seemed rather insistent on knowing my latest postcode. I grew a bit suspicious and asked him to verify my date of birth to prove he was legit. Oddly enough, he abruptly hung up after that! Quite peculiar, don't you think?
