Spam alert, don’t follow the link! Got a text saying something about HSBC and a new payee request for a Mr C Jones via their mobile banking app. It urged me to go to some suspicious-sounding security link if I didn’t recognise it. Thing is, I haven’t got an HSBC account at all! Pretty obvious scam, watch out folks.

Got a dodgy text on my phone claiming to be from HSBC, saying some bloke called Mr C Jones tried to do something on my account. It had a link directing me to some fake ‘security hsbcuk(###}nfirm-report{###) site. I rang my bank straight away to check and yep, it was a phishing attempt. Honestly, don’t even think about clicking those links. If you get a message like that, phone your bank using the number on your card rather than any numbers or links they send. Avoid falling for these scams!

i got a call from 07367673601 with the identical message, so be careful and dont click on any link they send! same deal happened on a different phone number too.
