Sounds like a classic HMRC scam to me. I got an automated call saying there was a letter that was undelivered and to press 1 if I wanted to talk to someone. I hit one, and then a woman came on asking for my postcode so she could “check why HMRC was trying to reach me.” I refused to give it, and then she just hung up on me.
