Somebody rang me claiming to be from the Chinese embassy, saying my private info showed up in a criminal probe by Chinese police. They accused me of selling my personal data and being tied to some international money laundering thing. Then, they passed me on to a bloke pretending to be a police officer from Beijing. This "officer" conducted some kind of interview over the phone and online. Total scam, no doubt. If you get a call like this, make sure to inform your local police straight away.
