I got a call from someone claiming to be from British Gas, trying to set up a chat about energy rates. When I told them I’m already a British Gas customer, they just ended the call straight away. Turns out, British Gas have said it’s a scam call.

Got a call from someone called Sam, said he was with British Gas. Was pushing me to meet with an energy advisor, but I told him I was fine with who I’m with now. He didn’t like that one bit and just dropped the call on me.

Some bloke called "Sam" claiming to be from British Gas phoned me about setting up a meeting with an advisor to help cut my bills and get me signed up. I tried to ask him a few questions, but he just kept yabbering away like it was some sort of automated recording. When I finally asked if it was actually a recorded message, the call just dropped. Oddly, the day before, I’d gotten a call from a Sam at British Gas on my landline about the same thing, but that one was a proper chat and didn’t sound like a robot at all.

This number, and a few like it, kept ringing me. They said they were from British Gas, even though I only use electric, which I told them right away. They kept going on anyway, so I just ended the call. Usually I don’t pick up these sorts of calls but I had my headphones in and didn’t spot the number, or else I wouldn’t have answered. After that, I just blocked any similar numbers that came through.
