The caller asked straight for me by my name, saying they were ringing from the British Medical Association and wanted to check if I’d had the Covid jab. I knew the BMA wouldn’t be doing phone surveys about that, so I just hung up.

They called me to "confirm" life insurance I supposedly have, but I don't have any kind of insurance at all. Quite dodgy if you ask me!

They called me on my work phone and weirdly already knew my name. Kept asking to talk to me or someone in my family. I wasn’t comfortable giving out any info, so I just blocked the number.

Like others have mentioned about someone saying they were from BMA... when I asked who he actually was, he just told me to hang up and said f*** you!

As soon as I picked up, the person on the other end just hung up right away. I tend to catch people off guard with my voice when random numbers ring me out of nowhere - makes me think it was something dodgy.

Got a call from an Indian guy named John who just wanted a quick 10 seconds. I gave him the time, then just put the phone down. Honestly, had no clue what he was going on about.

I got a call from someone saying they were from the British Medical Association telling me I’d already had all my Covid jabs this year. Then they asked which company my life insurance was with. When I asked where they got my number from, they just kept going back to the insurance question. I told them if they weren’t gonna answer me, I was ending the call and putting them straight on block.

I tried calling back but it just went to voicemail, and when I listened to the message, I could faintly hear some people talking in a language I didn’t recognise in the background.

Someone called me asking about my doctor and how I was feeling, but their English was really bad. I said I wasn’t going to talk about personal stuff over the phone. Then I just hung up and blocked the number. Definitely seemed like a scam or spam.

Loads of scam calls come through on my phone, especially ones beginning with 074, so I’ve stopped picking up altogether now. Before I even think about answering, I make sure to look the number up here first.

I keep getting calls from numbers that start with 07451 pretty much all day long. Every time I pick up, it’s the same nonsense - some badly spoken person asking about my NHS details. I've decided to just block every call from those numbers now. This was the most recent one that came through.

They called me asking if I was alright and if I was satisfied with my doctor. Then out of nowhere, the guy said, “I can tell from your health files you have life insurance, is that current?” I said, “Hold on, how do you have access to my health info? If you can see that, maybe you should tell me.” After that, he just ended the call on me... ####

Had a call about credit card fraud and I played along for about 25 minutes. They then passed me to some call centre where the person’s English was really hard to understand, sounded Asian. These scammers should be blocked for good. TheScoobster

So, I got this call from some mobile number and the voice was definitely foreign. They kept saying I was involved in some sort of fraud and that I had to pay up right away. Also, there was a lot of static and background noise which made it even more sketchy.
