Like many others here, I got one of those automated calls saying HMRC had launched a class action against me and I was about to get nicked! Honestly, who do these clowns think we are? Anyone with half a brain knows it’s a load of rubbish, so why bother with it? BT really ought to report these pathetic, confused folks to the cops - they’d do better if they’d stayed in school and found a decent gig instead of wasting their time scaring people.

Got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC, saying there's an arrest warrant out for me and telling me to press 1 to talk to an officer. Seemed dodgy to me.

Just got a call from someone pretending to be HMRC, pretty sure it’s one of those scam calls as others have mentioned. Best thing is to just ignore it, and if you happen to pick up, never follow any instructions they give like pressing numbers. I reckon the firms that make money from selling these phone numbers should be held accountable and properly fined for letting fraud happen through their systems. If they had to cough up for this rubbish, I bet there’d be a lot fewer of these calls around.

Got a call from this very same number, with a scary message saying HMRC is starting legal action against me. Proper threatening and really unsettling. It just keeps calling back every 7 minutes or so, spamming the same message. They just won't stop.

Got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC, they said I'd be sued if I didn’t press 1 to talk to my case officer. Weird thing is, I’m ex-directory so how on earth did they get my number? Of course I didn’t press 1, I had no intention of chatting with whoever was on the line. Seriously, how is this even allowed to happen? 😠😠

Got a call around 2:25 pm, some robo message saying I was taken to court by HMRC, press 1 to talk to someone. An Indian guy who said his name was 'Peter Smith' picked up and told me I owed £3500 in back taxes and if I didn’t pay straight away, the case would be sent to the 'courthouse.' I told him HMRC never calls about taxes and there's no such thing as a courthouse here in the UK, then he just called me a stupid idiot and cut the line.
