Some dodgy people called pretending they were from HP trying to scam me.

I initially reached out to HP because I was struggling to link my printer to the WiFi network. They requested my name and contact information to arrange a call back. When the chap finally rang me, he accessed my laptop remotely. After a short while, he claimed that I had a trojan horse lurking about and insisted I needed some kind of security software. I was having none of it when he began rambling nonsense about signing up for Norton, so I terminated the call. He then proceeded to bombard me with calls until I eventually had to block his number!

I received a call from this number and, rather naively, I granted them access to my computer.

Somebody called claiming to be from HP and tried to mess with my computer - felt like they were almost hacking me. Proper dodgy, I tell ya.
