Got a call from someone saying they were "From the Fraud Office in London". The bloke spoke pretty good English, but didn’t sound quite British. When I asked about "The Fraud Office" (not the SFO), he said it’s a non-profit working alongside the UK Government and Western Union. He wanted details about payments sent through Western Union. Since the number couldn’t be verified and the organisation doesn’t seem to exist, I told him to text me his full name, his company’s name and address, plus his manager’s contact info, all to the mobile he called from. He tried to talk me out of it, but I told him I needed proof before sharing anything, saying that’s usually how scams operate. After that, he just hung up. This isn’t the first time I’ve had calls like this - I always refuse to give any info unless I can confirm who I’m dealing with. Pretty sure he’s gotten info from Western Union’s records though.
