Got a recorded message from someone saying they were a BT engineer. They claimed there was a problem with my internet and told me to press a button to report it, warning me if I didn’t I’d be guilty of fraud and might get arrested. Total scam, don’t fall for it.

Got a weird call with some robot voice saying it’s a BT problem. They told me to press 1 or it’d be fraud or something. They clearly aren’t from BT though, but I can see how older folks or people who aren’t tech savvy might easily get tricked by it. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

Got a robocall claiming to be from BT but I quickly ended the call since we don’t actually use BT.

I didn’t pick up, just let the answerphone take it and listened back later. The bloke on the message spoke with an American accent, pretending to be from BT tech support. He said they could fix the issue or else you might fall victim to fraud and even get arrested. Then they told me to press 1 to talk to a ‘British BT representative.’ I reckon this kind of thing could really frighten older or vulnerable folks into pressing 4 and end up costing them a lot of money.

On Thursday the 20th of June 2019, I got a call from 07451200023. It was some recorded message from a guy with an American accent telling me to press one or it’d be fraud or something. I didn’t pick up and let it ring through to voicemail. Pretty suspicious if you ask me.
