Got a call from some bloke calling himself John, claiming he was from BT. He said there’d been complaints that my internet speed was rubbish and he wanted to fix it by upgrading my service. I did a speed test through BT’s official site and told him the figures, which were actually pretty good. Still, he insisted they weren’t. Then he asked to connect to my computer through Microsoft Quick Assist, but obviously I wasn’t about to let some random caller from India, who was clearly lying about who he was, mess with my PC. Safe to say I hung up.
