Got the same message today, but I’m not even an HSBC customer. It says something about a new payee, R Davies, being added on 18/05. Then it tells you to cancel if it wasn’t you by going to some ‘home banking alerts’ link. Honestly, don’t click on any of that stuff, just trash it immediately! x

Got the exact same message! We use HSBC too and there’s an R Davies living here - what a coincidence! Luckily, the message looked dodgy, with a lowercase ‘d’ in Davies and it wasn’t from the number HSBC normally uses to send alerts. Just blocked it and deleted straight away!

Got a text from this number saying there’s an outstanding payment for someone called R. Davies on my HSBC account. Problem is, I don’t even have an HSBC account! Plus, banks rarely use mobile texts to update about your accounts. Just delete the message and don’t click any links in it. If you do bank with HSBC, ring them straight away to check, rather than trusting the text.

For the past three days, this number keeps ringing my phone multiple times daily. I've ignored the calls since I don't recognise the number at all. I figured it must be some kind of annoying spam, but even after blocking it, my phone still rings when they call. Quite frustrating, really.
