got a call from someone claiming to be a tree surgeon named peter, said he worked for ‘capital paving & landscaping Ita’ and was replying to my garden work ad in kent. i looked into it a bit and told him i’m only interested in quotes from firms that are vat registered, can show a real company number, hold proper trade accreditations, don’t use generic pictures on their site, have solid positive reviews, and a phone number with a clean history. he just wished me luck and ended the call.
