I got a call from a robotic-sounding woman saying she was calling from Barclaycard’s fraud team. She told me there was a £900 withdrawal from my account, which sounded fishy. The accent and how she spoke didn’t seem quite right, almost like someone not fluent in English was behind it. I ended the call straight away. In my experience, real calls from Barclaycard have a set group of prerecorded voices and use much clearer, professional language when talking about recent transactions.
