Someone rang me saying they were from British Gas and asked for my personal info to "confirm" my identity. When I told them British Gas doesn’t call from mobiles and that they usually use a call centre, the bloke just hung up straight away. Seemed a bit dodgy to me.

Got a call from a man with an Indian accent saying he was from British Gas, and then suddenly mentioned electricity too. He already knew my name and address, even though I never gave him anything. When I asked what the call was regarding, he said he had to check my details first, but when I pushed for more info, he just hung up. Pretty clear scam, so blocked the number straight away.

I saw a missed call from that number yesterday but was tied up at the time so didn't pick up. Lately, I’ve had a couple of calls from what seems like a call centre claiming to be British Gas doing some kind of update on my details. I’ve blocked them as new numbers keep turning up.
