I got a message saying it was from HSBC about a payee request for someone called Mrs K Adams, and that I should click a link if I didn’t know anything about it. Problem is, I don’t even bank with HSBC, so like others said, it’s definitely a scam.

I've just looked up this number, it said it was from HSBC but I dont even have an account there. Pretty clear this was a scam try.

Got a text saying it was from HSBC security about a new payee being added to my account - problem is, I don’t even have an HSBC account! The message wanted me to click a link to verify it. Seems pretty dodgy to me. I looked up HSBC’s official numbers and this one didn’t match any legitimate contact, so definitely a scam.
