I received a rather dubious automated call purporting to be from Amazon Prime, attempting to alarm me with a threat of a £79.99 charge unless I pressed 1. Given that I'm already a Prime subscriber and pay monthly, I could tell it was just a ruse. The intention behind such calls is likely to fish for bank details or something equally nefarious. I opted to hang up, but wouldn't you know, another call came through today from a similar number, beginning with 07446. Quite the nuisance, these scoundrels!
