I got a call from someone pretending to be Amazon, telling me that a £700 iPhone had just been bought on my account. They insisted I had to share my personal verification code to cancel the order right away. When I said I’d check my account to see if the purchase was there, they claimed it wouldn’t show up yet since the order wasn't confirmed. According to them, the only way to stop it was by handing over that code sent to my phone. The weird part is the message actually looked like it came from Amazon, so it was quite convincing.
