Got a call on my landline from some automated American voice claiming I had a £600 charge on my Visa that needed cancelling. They said to press 1 to speak to someone. I just hung up and then used 1471 to check the number - it was 07444 825860. Tried pressing 3 to call back but the line was dead. This is the second time in five days I've had one of these. I hardly ever get landline calls nowadays. Normally, I just let them go to voicemail but can’t with this line as it’s how I keep in touch with elderly family members who need daily support.
