Got a call from someone saying they were from HMRC. When they asked for my name I just gave them a made-up one. They went on about criminal charges against me (even though I lied about my name!). They asked if I had a lawyer, so I told them yeah, Ally McBeal. They instantly hung up after that. I got in touch with HMRC later and they told me they only phone if you’ve called them first. Turns out it was a scam trying to pinch bank details. Never share your info with callers like that and make sure to report these numbers to help stop this rubbish!
