Got a message saying "Dad, this is my backup phone since I broke mine." Then another one came through with a different number, claiming it was their work phone, something like 07586 576120. Later on, texts from that number said they couldn't get into their online banking and needed me to cover some bills, promising to pay me back the next day. They wanted about £1700. I said no way, I haven’t got that kind of money in my account, then they asked if I had a credit card to use. Told them I was reporting the number to the police for trying to scam me.
