Someone rang me, saying they were from BT, telling me the engineers at my local exchange found my router was faulty. They said they’d send a new one that would arrive in a couple of days. They already had my name, home phone number and postcode. It felt dodgy though, ’cause I wasn’t asked to pay anything yet, but we actually use VirginMedia for all our broadband, TV and phone - no BT at all. When I mentioned that, the caller just ended the call straight away! Definitely a scam attempt.
