Beware, this is definitely a con. I got a WhatsApp saying "Hi mum, this is my new number." After a few back and forths, it asks (mum) for a favour - basically asking for money to cover a new phone and iPad. They give an account name Akkhik Katuri with A/c 63826872 and sort code 20-25-38 to send the cash. Total scam! I decided to call my daughter’s old number and she hadn’t sent anything at all. Glad I didn’t send any money in the end.
