They rang up and even managed to get my daughter's name right, claiming their phone had broken and asking for £2,500. Then they wanted to know if I'd be in later. Honestly, it was pretty frightening. Say hi to your mum for me!

I kept getting texts saying "Hi mum, my phone is broken." When I tried to find out more, they quickly figured I wasn’t fooled. Then, out of nowhere, all the messages vanished. Proper sus behaviour!

Received a text from this number claiming to be my child saying their other phone was water damaged. We exchanged messages about the phone issue but then they asked if I was in and if I could send £2453 as a favour - including bank account and sort code details. I told whoever it was to call me, but they said they'd ring only after the payment was done. Feeling uneasy, I got in touch with my real child who said it definitely wasn’t them messaging me. When I tried to check the texts again to report it, all the messages had vanished.
