Just got a call from this number a short while ago. A bloke with what sounded like a South African accent spoke to me, using my first name, and started chatting about buying a car. Problem is, I don’t own one, and when I told him that, he kept babbling on like it was a recorded message. I had to hang up, blocked the number and sent a report to 7726. But I wonder, does anyone at the authorities even bother reading these complaints to actually do something? It’s worrying that whoever’s behind this scam already knows my first name. Proper creepy if you ask me.

Got called yesterday but the line was just dead quiet and then they hung up. Not happening again, I’m blocking that number for good.

Got a call not long ago from a bloke claiming their system says I bought a car through finance. Thing is, I’ve never even bought a car! When I tried to interrupt and correct him, it turned out to be a recorded message that kept going nonstop. So I just ended the call, blocked the number straight away, and reported it to 7726. It’s mad how these scammers, probably operating from South Africa, keep hassling folks here in the UK with these irritating calls.

So I got this automated call saying, "Our files indicate you bought a car on finance in the past 20 years..." Which is totally off. When I pointed out their info was incorrect, they quickly said I couldn't make a claim or anything? Bit dodgy, if you ask me.
