Got a message saying my laptop's been locked and to ring this number. Seemed a bit dodgy to me.

Got a call supposed to be from Microsoft Security about some Adware or Spyware threat after trying to open an MSN news site. The screen got frozen with a scary warning telling me not to turn off the PC and to ring them for help unlocking it. Definitely some ransomware trick. Best thing is to just force a shutdown and boot up in Safe Mode to be safe.
