My laptop got compromised after visiting a dodgy slimming world recipe page. A warning popped up on my screen, claiming to be from Microsoft, stating my device was infected. I called the number displayed. The bloke on the line, who spoke with an Asian accent, tried to sell me a £179 computer fix and another £599 for a firewall setup. I was told to just end the call.
