Got a call from a number I didn’t recognise, but they hung up as soon as my answerphone kicked in. I’m pretty sure they were up to something dodgy, like a scam or summat.

My phone flagged the call as a scam. It usually blocks these kind of calls but still alerts me when someone tries. This time it was a silent voicemail from a number I don't recognise. I'm guessing it's linked to the Makerfield election coming up soon because they’ve been nonstop with these calls. I’m getting multiple calls every day for more than a week now. I’m on the TPS list, so they really shouldn’t be contacting me like this.

Got a call claiming to be a survey on the Makerfield by-election. The person spoke like a native English speaker and insisted they weren’t the same folks I’d already taken a survey with. Honestly, wouldn’t let me say much, kept talking over me. Told them I wasn’t up for doing any other surveys. They sounded fairly polite but I ended up blocking the number anyway.

Around 5.40 in the evening, I got a weird call from a bloke who sounded like he was behind the wheel. He said he was asking about transport habits in West Yorkshire, which struck me as pretty bizarre. He couldn’t even tell me my name or why he was ringing. I hung up straight away. Some young guy rang me around 8 in the evening, saying he was contacting folks who supposedly don’t travel by train. Like, how would he even know? For starters, there’s no way he knows if I do or don’t use trains. Plus, no proper business would ever call that late. Also, the number was a mobile, not a business landline, so definitely dodgy. On top of that, my number is on the TPS list, so yeah, I’m pretty certain this was a scam.

Got a call from an unknown number, when I answered all I could hear was a really loud sniff on the voicemail and then they hung up! Checked this site straight away and blocked the number. Even though I’m on the TPS and have BT call protect, I’m still bombarded with these annoying cold calls I never asked for. Tried reporting to TPS, BT and Ofcom but honestly, nothing changes!!!

Picked up this call from a lady who claimed she got my digits from some data company, saying they were checking out travel info in my area. I told her I was busy with work and couldn’t chat, then she asked if I’d be free later - it was like 7pm, seriously? I told her my number’s on the x directory and shouldn’t be out there like that. Asked her to take it off their list. Honestly, don’t know why I bother replying to these calls at all.
