Got a call from someone claiming to be an insurance firm. Instantly, I felt something was off and didn’t think they were legit. I ended the call straight away because carrying on would have been risky.

I received a call earlier today from a chap on this mobile number, claiming to be working for an 'accident helpline'. He was inquiring if I had encountered any recent car mishaps. Interestingly, I actually had an accident last November, so I mentioned that to him. He then proceeded to elaborate on how I might be entitled to a significant payout and he could assist in securing it. However, as he began probing for my personal details, I felt rather uneasy about sharing any of that. I politely thanked him and ended the call. I subsequently looked up the number online, and it appears my instincts were spot on; numerous others believe this to be a scam. Just a heads-up, folks-these sorts of cons can be rather convincing!

They’ve been phoning me off and on for a few months using different numbers. I ended up chatting with them today and they seemed to know a bit about my case, but some bits were off. They said I had a claim for some cash, around £3000, and offered to send me a cheque. When I told them I wasn’t interested, they said they’d just pass it on to my insurance company instead.

Received a call from a bloke saying he was John Farriday, claiming to be from some outfit called First Response, number was 0744139578. He mentioned something about an accident I had back in October 2019 and said I could make a level 3 claim for some funds supposedly set aside for me but never claimed. He asked me to send photos of the damage to my car, which I did, and he said he’d ring me back, but that never happened. That made me look up the number and I was quite shocked by all the negative reviews. Now I’m not so sure if this was all just a con to get hold of money meant for me.

I’ve been getting these dodgy calls about accidents. They already know my name and say I’m registered on some national accident list. Total rubbish, all of it.

Got a call from someone named Adam who said he was with the accident helpline, wanting to talk about an accident I supposedly had in November. I told him I hadn’t been in any accident then, and when I refused to give him any details, he kept pressing and got quite pushy. So I just cut the call off and blocked his number straight away. This isn’t the first time either - I already blocked a landline linked to them before. Honestly, these folks seem pretty dodgy.

After looking through other people's posts, I'm not shocked it might be one of those annoying legal call centres. Luckily now the best move is to only bother if you get a voicemail from a number you don't know. If no message's left, just block it straight away.

Got a call from some spammer dude who somehow knew my surname but messed up my first name completely. He asked if he’d rung the right number, and I was like, 'You called me, so how should I know?'
