I got a call from someone pretending to be from a "home appliances" business, but their English was really hard to follow. They said my debit card was charged about £150 more than expected, but they wouldn't share any card info like the provider or last few digits. They told me my card or number must’ve been updated because a few automatic payments supposedly didn’t go through. Thing is, I’ve never had any arrangement with any appliance company to take payments regularly, so I don't see how that extra charge could happen.
