Best to keep quiet - dont even say your name. These companies mark people who give away info, like putting a tick by your name if you just say who you are. The more you say, the more 'ticks' you get, and that makes your number more valuable for other scammers to pester. Just stay silent, dont confirm a thing!

Got a call from someone saying they were with Nationwide, they even knew my husband’s name and our previous postcode. But the moment I wouldn’t share any new info, they just ended the call.

Someone saying they were from Aviva called me, already knowing my name and postcode. They spoke with a West African accent, maybe Nigerian, but I noticed others think the caller sounded Asian. Either way, this is 100% a scam. Best to just ignore and block straight away.

Got a few calls from this number where no one spoke. When someone finally answered, I reckon I freaked them out a bit. Asked them straight away how they got my number. Before they could say anything, I warned them not to hang up because the number was already traced. Told them something like “MI5 know you’re calling, don’t leave your desk, a team’s coming to have a word with you and your boss.” Was a lot of stuttering, no’s and pleas but I ended the call. Works a treat when you get random calls from Manchester trying to reach some Miss Namahechos or whoever.

Got a call from an Asian guy trying to sell life insurance, but when I told him I wasn’t interested, he got all angry and ended up calling me a Mother F####r. Honestly, wasn’t expecting that kind of reaction.

Got a call from this number three different times today. Each time I picked up, dead silence. After seeing what folks said about it here, I just went ahead and blocked it.

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent claiming to be from Aviva, wanting me to verify my postcode. I asked what for and he then started asking if I held any life insurance. When I said yes, he wanted to know with who. I asked why he needed that info, and just like that, he hung up. I've now blocked the number on my iPhone. It's crazy how these calls keep happening. Shouldn’t the police be doing more to track these scammers down?

Got a call from this number earlier. The guy on the line was Asian and claimed he was ringing from Nationwide. He knew my name and an old postcode of mine. When I asked what the call was about, he just kept going on in circles and then suddenly cut me off. Definitely a scam. I've blocked the number now.

No clue who it was, I just blocked the number after looking it up here. How can people say it was an Asian guy? Did they actually call you on FaceTime or something? I reckon it's super easy to fake an accent these days.
