Got a message on WhatsApp from someone claiming to sell a guitar effects pedal on Gumtree - right away I was suspicious. Then they pushed to go through the Gumtree delivery system (something called parcel2go) for a tiny pedal that’s way smaller than a cigarette box. I declined, and then they just stopped replying. Honestly, it felt dodgy, so I came here to check, and yep, turned out to be a scam. Weirdly, they never outright said what the item was, only sent a link. Definitely glad I didn’t get involved.

So, this person calling herself Emily hit me up on WhatsApp after I posted an ad on Gumtree - immediate red flags there. She kept pushing to send the micro effects pedal, which is tiny, through Gumtree Delivery (something like parcel2go), but that sounded dodgy for something that small. I said no and she just vanished. I had a feeling it was fishy, so I looked this site up and yep, spotted the scam right away! What really got me was she never once named the pedal or anything, just sent a link. Proper shady.
