Scammer alert! This bloke calling himself Franklin says he’s from OT Media, some kind of online church group. He’s ringing people on WhatsApp, giving them a pin to “join” the service. But really, he’s setting up two-factor authentication to hijack your WhatsApp account. After that, he pretends to be you, messaging or ringing your contacts asking for cash. This fraudster targeted my elderly mum, who’s 80, just over the weekend and now we’re struggling to regain access to her WhatsApp. Total nightmare.
